Update on the Water System:  3/21/17     2:30 PM

Today we received word from our licensed operator that the state has agreed with his recommendation to chlorinate the water system beginning this Friday, March 24, 2017, after regular school hours.

The system will be flushed after the chlorination is completed and additional water testing is scheduled to take place on the following Friday, March 31, 2017.

Students are requested to continue to bring in sealed water bottles to school each day until the results have been received and reviewed by the state. Once again, for students who are unable to bring their own bottled water, the district will provide an alternate source of water on an as needed basis.

Thank you for your cooperation and we will continue to provide more information as it becomes available.

UPDATE ON WATER SITUATION:  3/8/17 3:45 PM

With regard to the water system, students are to continue to bring sealed bottled water to school each day.  Once again, for students who are unable to bring their own bottled water, the district will provide an alternate source of water on an as needed basis.

The Salem County Health Department Official arrived in district today and met with our maintenance supervisor, administration and licensed operator.  The Salem County Health Department Official has been in contact with the Department of Environmental Protection.  The Department of Environmental Protection has approved the district’s actions and procedures that have been put into motion thus far.

Additionally, the Salem County Health Department Official met with and advised our cafeteria staff how to safely proceed with meal preparation until this issue has been resolved.

Please see our website for the official drinking water warning notice (WORD DOC BELOW), which has also been posted in all water locations throughout the building.  Lastly, for anyone who is interested in learning more about the drinking water warnings, our school nurse, Mrs. Sherry Biddle, will be providing a presentation Thursday evening, March 9, 2017 at 5:00 PM in the library, prior to evening parent conferences.  Also, Mrs. Biddle will be providing this information to our students on Friday, March 10, 2017.

Thank you for your support in this matter.
